Nutella Balls Recipe : Irresistible Dessert

Nutella Balls

What You Need (Ingredients)

Base mixture

  • 1 cup Nutella (or any chocolate-hazelnut spread)

  • 1 ½ cups crushed biscuits or graham crackers (fine crumbs)

  • ½ cup finely chopped hazelnuts (optional but recommended for texture)

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1–2 tablespoons milk only if needed (to help bind)

Coating options

Choose one or mix several:

  • Melted dark chocolate

  • Melted milk chocolate

  • Melted white chocolate

  • Crushed hazelnuts

  • Cocoa powder

  • Chocolate sprinkles

  • Toasted coconut flakes

How to Make Nutella Balls

1. Make the base mixture

  1. In a bowl, combine Nutella, powdered sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Add the crushed biscuits and chopped hazelnuts.

  3. Mix until you get a thick dough-like consistency.

  4. If too dry, add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time.

  5. If too sticky, add 1–2 tablespoons of biscuit crumbs.

2. Shape the balls

  • Scoop small portions and roll into smooth balls using your palms.

  • Aim for about 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls.

3. Chill the balls

  • Place on a tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Refrigerate 20–30 minutes so they firm up.

4. Coat the balls

Dip each ball into your chosen coating:

  • Chocolate coating:

    • Melt chocolate in the microwave (20-second bursts) or double boiler.

    • Dip each ball and place back on parchment to set.

  • Dry coating:

    • Roll in chopped hazelnuts, sprinkles, cocoa, or coconut.

5. Let them set

  • If chocolate-coated, chill again for 10–15 minutes until fully hardened.

Yield

  • Makes 18–24 Nutella balls, depending on size.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use fine crumbs, not large biscuit pieces.

  • Add 1 tablespoon instant coffee to enhance chocolate flavor.
